RBGG has promoted Kara Janssen to partner and Marc J. Shinn-Krantz to Senior Counsel.
Kara Janssen’s practice emphasizes structured negotiations, class action litigation, constitutional and civil rights law, and disability rights. Prior to joining RBGG she was a Staff Attorney with Disability Rights Legal Center and with Disability Rights Advocates, both national non-profit legal centers, where she was lead attorney on multiple individual and class action matters on behalf of people with disabilities. Janssen received a J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she was a Root-Tilden-Kern scholar, and a B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Arizona.
Marc J. Shinn-Krantz’s practice focuses on complex litigation, with an emphasis on employment, civil rights, commercial, disability rights, and First Amendment disputes. Shinn-Krantz serves as First Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired in San Francisco, and as Awards Director for the Camp Shohola Scholarship Foundation on the East Coast. Prior to joining RBGG, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joseph R. Goodwin of the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. Shinn-Krantz is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School and received his B.A. from Oberlin College. During law school, he served as the Lead Managing Editor of the ABA Journal of Labor & Employment Law.
