A class action was filed in federal court on April 7, 2010 alleging that McAfee, the Internet security company, gives customers’ credit card information to an advertiser that uses deceptive pop-ups on McAfee’s website to trick people into subscribing to its service. RBGs Gay Grunfeld and Shirley Huey filed the case as local counsel in conjunction with plaintiffs counsel Andrew Friedman and Victoria Nugent of Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll in New York and Washington, D.C. and Matthew Metz of Metz Law Group in Seattle.
