Hugo Cabrera is an associate at Rosen Bien Galvan & Grunfeld LLP, where he works on a wide range of complex litigation and prelitigation matters, including civil rights, employment, disability rights, First Amendment, and business disputes. 

Prior to joining RBGG, Mr. Cabrera was an associate with an international law firm where he represented private equity clients and large businesses in their negotiations with lending institutions.  Mr. Cabrera received his J.D. from the University of California Berkeley School of Law and he received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.

During law school, Mr. Cabrera served as an Executive Editor of the California Law Review and he also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Berkeley La Raza Law Journal.  Mr. Cabrera defended individuals charged with committing offenses in federal court while working as a law clerk for the Federal Public Defender for the Northern District of California.  He has also defended juveniles charged with offenses in the Bay Area and has advocated for the rights of persons with disabilities at Disability Rights California.  Prior to his career in law, Mr. Cabrera was an investigative journalist with the Center for Investigative Reporting, where his reporting focused on immigration, education and government accountability.  Mr. Cabrera is fluent in Spanish.
