The Western Society of Criminology (WSC) will honor RBGG’s Michael Bien with the prestigious June Morrison-Tom Gitchoff Founders Award, which is awarded to honor a person who, through their scholarship and/or activism, has significantly improved the quality of justice in the United States.  Michael will be presented with the award at the Society’s annual conference on February 10, 2017.  According to the WSC, “we considered Mr. Bien’s work on the landmark Plata case addressing prison overcrowding, and related litigation addressing conditions of confinement in the California prisons, as deserving of this award. “
